Gondia: Maharashtra Express Train Update: After the Mahalaxmi Express and Haripriya Express, the Maharashtra Express is now set to receive a major upgrade. Indian Railways has decided to phase out all old ICF coaches and replace them with modern LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches in a systematic manner. As part of this plan, 18 LHB coaches have now been added to the Maharashtra Express.

This significant decision has been made with a focus on improving passenger comfort and safety. The outdated train racks are being converted into more advanced and secure LHB coaches, ensuring a better travel experience.

The Maharashtra Express departing from Gondia will now operate with this upgraded LHB coach structure. The new train composition will include:
  • 1 Second Air-Conditioned Coach
  • 4 Third Air-Conditioned Coaches
  • 7 Sleeper Coaches
  • 4 General Second Class Coaches
  • 1 General Second Class Coach (reserved for differently-abled passengers)
  • 1 Generator Car

Thanks to these changes, passengers can expect a much more comfortable, safe, and convenient journey compared to earlier.

The Kolhapur-Gondia Express will begin running with LHB coaches and a new configuration starting from June 1, 2025, departing from Kolhapur Railway Station.

Similarly, the Gondia-Kolhapur Express will operate with the updated LHB structure starting from June 3, 2025, departing from Gondia Railway Station.
