HSRP Mandatory for Vehicles Registered Before 2019
Vehicle owners must install High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on all vehicles registered before April 1, 2019. However, many vehicle owners are neglecting this rule. Bhandara's Deputy Regional Transport Officer, Rajendrakumar Verma, has warned that strict action and fines will be imposed on those who fail to comply by April 30.
What is HSRP?
HSRP is a tamper-proof number plate made of aluminum, designed to enhance security and prevent vehicle-related crimes. These plates come with a hologram sticker and a unique identification number engraved using a pressure machine. The plate also includes details like the vehicle's engine and chassis numbers.
Charges for HSRP Installation
- Two-wheelers: ₹531
- Four-wheelers: Charges may differ based on the vehicle model.
Which Vehicles Require HSRP?
All two-wheelers and four-wheelers registered before 2019 must install an HSRP. The transport department has made it mandatory to enhance vehicle identification and security.
Deadline and Penalty
Vehicle owners must install HSRP by April 30. Failure to do so will result in penalties. The purpose of this rule is to prevent tampering-related crimes, identify vehicles on the road, and reduce the risk of vehicle theft.
How to Apply for HSRP?
The application for an HSRP must be done online. Vehicle owners can visit the official transport department website or authorized portals to register and book an appointment for plate installation.
Required Documents for HSRP
While applying online, vehicle details must be provided. The RC book (Registration Certificate) is a mandatory document for this process.
Extended Deadline for HSRP Installation
Previously, the deadline for installing HSRP was March 31, but it has now been extended to April 30 to give vehicle owners more time to comply.

Ensure you install your HSRP before the deadline to avoid fines and contribute to a safer and more secure transportation system.
