Tumsar:A tragic incident occurred at the underground manganese mine in Chikhla, Tumsar taluka, where a slab collapsed, resulting in the death of two workers and serious injuries to another. This accident brings back memories of the recent ordnance factory mishap. The incident took place on March 5th during the first work shift between 9:00 and 9:30 AM. The collapse happened at a depth of 100 meters in MOIL Vertical 2, Underground Level 3. Three workers were trapped under the debris. The deceased have been identified as Vijay Nandlal (50), a resident of Kharpadi, and Arun Jeevanlal Chormare (41) from Sitasawangi. The injured worker, Shankar Sahdev Vishwakarma (56) from Sitasawangi, has been admitted to a private hospital in Bhandara for treatment. The bodies of the deceased workers were recovered and sent to the Tumsar Government Hospital for post-mortem examination, as confirmed by the MOIL administration. All three workers were permanent employees of the company. As news of the accident spread, local residents gathered at the site, expressing their anger against the MOIL administration.
