Gondia: Gondia railway station, once a Maoist-affected area, has undergone significant transformation, emerging as a modern commercial hub. The station's redevelopment, part of the 'Amrit Bharat' scheme, includes the construction of a multi-functional complex on its southern side. This complex is set to house various facilities such as budget hotels, food courts, retail shops, medical stores, ATMs, and beauty salons, enhancing passenger amenities and boosting local commerce.
In addition to these developments, the station has introduced an air-conditioned paid waiting lounge on platform number one. This lounge offers a comfortable environment for passengers, complete with television entertainment, refreshments, and advanced toilet facilities. Access is available to all passengers for a nominal fee of ₹20 per adult and ₹10 for minors on an hourly basis. Notably, the lounge also features a baby care room for women, ensuring a secure and convenient space for families.
Under the Amrit Bharat Yojana, the Gondia Railway Station is being equipped with advanced and modern amenities, including a waiting hall with state-of-the-art facilities. The station is being transformed into a world-class green station, designed to utilize natural light and ventilation.
